Shining a light on Scotland’s best woods
Scotland’s Finest Woods is a Scottish charity that runs an annual awards programme celebrating everything woodlands bring to Scotland’s people, environment and economy. From community woods and farm woodland to urban forestry and school projects, the awards recognise the people caring for Scotland’s forests, large and small. The programme is made possible by volunteer trustees and judges, and supported by a wide network of sponsors from across the sector.
Why they came to us
Scotland’s Finest Woods wanted to attract more entries to the awards and do a better job of showing off their winners as examples of great forestry across Scotland.
Their old WordPress website was hard to update and felt dated, and the entry process was all done on paper. Entrants had to download a form, fill it in and send it back, leaving the small team to gather everything together by hand. They needed a modern website they could easily manage themselves, ready in time for the 2026 awards.
What we did
We designed and built a new website in Webflow, keeping the familiar structure of their old site while making it much easier to use and update.
- Clear pages for every award category and trophy, with entry criteria and previous winners, all managed in the Webflow CMS
- Simple online entry forms built with Fillout, so entrants can submit their entry along with photos and videos in a few easy steps
- Every entry flowing straight into Airtable, giving the team one clear place to view and manage everything, with no more chasing paperwork
- Online judging, so judges can review the entries for their category and fill in their site visit assessments online
- A simple yearly setup, with a step by step guide so the team can open and close entries themselves each year
- A news section, a showcase for their sponsors and supporters, and links to their LinkedIn and X accounts

The result?
Scotland’s Finest Woods now has a modern, user friendly website that’s easy for the team to keep up to date. The whole awards process, from entry to judging, now happens online, saving time for entrants, judges and the team alike. The new site was delivered on time and within budget, ready for the 2026 awards.
"Embra Digital were a great company to work with. They were efficient, proactive and responded quickly to queries. They designed and built a user friendly new website, within budget and on time, which should be easy to keep updated. Highly recommend!"
